What Wine With That Space Shuttle?

Anything open.
Here is the NASA website link that provides all the scheduling information for when you can watch the shuttle passing overhead while it is docked to the space station. It's competing with about a dozen helicopters and other ufo's, but you'll know it when you see it.
A glass of wine, the stars...and these guys.

The Glendale History Walk: How Was It?

Last weekend almost a hundred people wandered through The Cave, one of many destinations on the Glendale History Walk. If you weren't able to attend, you missed a good bit of pandemonious fun. Our attempt to see how many unsuspecting history buffs you can fit into a twenty-four case locker is still under review by the Guinness World Record folks, so I'll have to get back to you on that one, but while we were all occupied with that one, attendee Graeme Whifler took this photo. It's a beautiful shot of the Bordeaux Room, more so of the original dance floor that remains from when that room was the ballroom, later said to be a speakeasy during prohibition. Graeme was good enough to let me post this, and you can see his photos of the rest of the History Walk here.
Because the event was so well attended, what wasn't seen was something I stumbled on this past winter, a newspaper glued to the back wall inside one of the lockers, an upside down funny-pages from the twenties. I still wonder why.

Glendale History Walk, July 11, 2009.

The Cave is a stop on the upcoming Glendale History Walk. Did you know the same firm that designed the Alex Theatre also designed the Hotel Glendale? Feel free to park here beforehand. After the walk you can raid your locker and take off. A little fresh air, a stroll through history, good wine; not a bad day.
