It's Sunday and I'm catching up on my Terroirist: A Daily Wine Blog reading.  This is from that.  It's an article written by yet another blogger The Gray Report (Best Industry Blog 2012), and the article is Sparkling wine/Champagne buying advice: 8 simple tips.
As soon as I read the words 'potato chips,' I knew this was a wise man.
"Foods that are good with good sparkling wine include plenty of stuff
that's around on New Year's Eve. Buttered popcorn is great. Potato chips
are great. Pretzels are good. I'd drink Champagne with nachos (hold the
jalapenos, though). You don't have to get fancy. Just think salty and
crunchy, not overly spicy and not sweet."
Cheers.
