Organic chemistry.

Last The Deanster was around, or was it via email?, I seem to recall his alluding to this stuff.  So while  at Topline yesterday (home of the world's worst website) I also picked up this bottle of 2011 La Vieille Ferme Côtes du Ventoux.  I had a glass last night and it was:  fine, a perfectly good daily-with-dinner glass of wine. No great mysteries, no revealing layers, just a straight-up glass of pleasant wine.

Today was a busy one, busy, and all at once. These are the best days at The Cave; winos are such a passionate breed if you get more than one in a room together chances are bit of organic chemistry will occur.

Somewhere in the melee, I heard someone say something about how this wine was made by the same family known for its very excellent Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Indeed, Famille Perrin has a lovely range in their line-up, and you know for a mere $5.99 you are getting some pedigree.
